Why don't you see more whites converting to Islam in America

My response to the question of why you don't see more whites converting to Islam in America...?

One reason you don't see more whites converting to Islam in America is that Western whites have been historical enemies with Islam for centuries. Historical identities have been built up over the years, as a result of epic wars of the past. Even today you see that when Americans define themselves or define their society as being "free", or being progressive, or the feminist movement, or cultural staples such as the hot dog, or beer drinking; these identities are often positioned as being an antithesis to Islamic societies. And likewise, you have Muslim societies in response defining the West as God-less, materialistic, ruled by women, indulgent, arrogant, and so on.

First it was Christianity competing against Islam as the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s. was establishing Islam in Arabia. Syria was the site of fierce Holy Wars between Islam and Christianity. Then not long after the Prophet passed r.a., one of his successors Umar Ibn Khattab captured the Holy Lands of Jerusalem from the Christians.

The wars continued throughout the Middle Ages with the Christians falling into the dark ages and Muslims experiencing their golden age in Spain. White Christians felt very threatened by Muslims during that era, and finally under the Ottoman Empire the Muslims would capture Constantinople which had been a white Euro-Christian stronghold for centuries.

Finally the Renaissance came, America was discovered, and white Europeans turned away from Christian law. They still fought in the name of Christ but if you read the writings of the founding fathers in America you see that they were learning from the mistakes of the Muslim world and their political system. One of the founding fathers, I think it was Jefferson wrote that, "Many a war has been started in the Muslim world over whether the length of Mohamets toe was this many centimeters or that many centimeters to know that when religion comes to rule a Nation politically it can be disastrous".

So while Islam was expanding through the darker skinned races of Asia and Africa, eventually the white Europeans were able to put an end to the rapid Islamic expansion. It was the whites who also fought the Muslims the hardest, and consequently it was the Muslims who always fought the Europeans the hardest and who denied the Christians and Jews the capture of Jerusalem for 1300 years.

So when you have a history such as this, lines are drawn in the sand, identities are built up like fortresses, and this I believe is a big reason why you don't see many whites in America converting to Islam.
